Left to Right, Don Waldear and John H. Super. Don was the President of the Gladiator Class and Super was the Prez of the Islander Bahama Class. They were the guys who thought out the Plastic Classic in 1984. It started in a discussion around a table at the GGYC after a YRA (or some such) race. Bemoaning the fact that our fleets were never invited to a decent regatta like the Bid Daddy or anything, they decided to stage a regatta for old fleets of fiberglass boats. The rest is history...
